Air Crash Investigations (a.k.a. Mayday)
DVD rip of series 1 through 11

Series 1 is voiced by David Bamber, while all the others are voiced by the
usual Jonathan Aris (British accent).

English stereo only and no subtitles (none were on the DVDs).

The files are encoded in constant-quality mode so the file sizes vary quite a
bit, depending on the amount of motion in each episode. But I figure the days
are long gone when each episode needed to fit on a CD-R, so it would be better
to aim for uniform quality across all the episodes instead.

File list not available.

Comments

The previous Season 11 episodes were jumpy/jittery web based files. I have only got season 11 downloaded so far on this, but I have to say that these videos are very jumpy/jittery too. They do not seem to be DVDrips. If the other files are like these season 11, then you need to redo them with a better conversion program. The quality on season 11 are not so good either.
And also why mkv. the worst garbage file type there is. You can set the data and audio bitrates the same for all at the rate average you are using. Your constant quality rate has a serious flaw producing jumpy videos or the program you used to create them, unless season 11 is an exception from the others.
Season 6 episode 1 the file name is too long. Had to rename it (SHORTEN) to be able to move it to storage location. Season 6 Episode 2 is even a longer file name. You can download the file, but the file actually will not complete. Either a corrupt file, OR I believe that the file name is way too long. You can not rename it or play it. You can only have so many characters in a file name or string. Just the download Folder and File name for these 2 files are too long. Can you shorten the name on S06E02 and re-upload it. Thanks. Anyone else have an issue with S06E02 file. It is not my issue. Win 7 OS.
Appears that only season 11 are jumpy/jittery videos. I do not think they are DVD Rips. I think they are the same season 11 web rips available here on PB.
Are you fu..in crazy! First of all a little ''thanks to uploader'' would be in ok.. If you don't like it... there is an ''back'' button. Do not shit where you eat!
Secondly... mkv is by far best container out there.. Lots of hardware-players do not support it, that's true.. but again mkv is the future!

1512kz - Thank you so much for your work.. exelent quality sizewize.. do not lisen to this ungreatful litle sh..t.
again.. EXELENT torrent. TY

@2B4GR8: Might I respectfully suggest you consider purchasing the DVDs of this series instead? You will find them much easier to use than these complicated .mkv files!

@snupix007: Thanks for your support :-)

On a serious note these were ripped under an alternative OS, and I completely forgot that some operating systems have quite small limits on the length of filenames. If you run into this problem and can't download a couple of the files (and your torrent program won't let you rename them or doesn't do it automatically), you should report it as a bug in your torrent program as they should handle this for you.

Some of the episodes do have reduced quality - I suspect because they were filmed as NTSC and then converted to interlaced PAL for the DVD. Unfortunately there's not much I can do about that as the problem is with the source material.
OK, I was a little rude. But 1st of all, mkv is definitely not the future. mp4 is. mkv has too many quirks encoding and playing on most players. next of all dude, the file name on that one file is too long. it downloads the file at 100%, but the file name exceeds any Windows 32 or 64 bit OS, especially when you have the preceeding filename to the folder you are storing the file in which then makes the total filename even longer. It has nothing to do with my torrent client which is utorrent. tried 6 different torrent clients on 5 computers running windows 7 and 8 64 bit OS and all the same thing. Maybe shorten the name and re-upload that file. I guarantee there is no one using the most popular OS in the world (WINDOWS) who are getting this file on download. Maybe Mac and Linux users are getting the file. Dude I been in the computer business for 25 years and I am telling you that S06E02 is not available to 98% of people downloading it. I believe you stated you were using a non Windows OS. Last of all, I can rip DVD's and Blue ray or re encode any files and setting the data bitrates to one setting will produce same quality. These are not fast action movies or sports auto racing which then maybe require to encode the way you did. Been there, did it done it million times over. But hey thanks for no season 6 episode 2 as everyone else did not get either. Later man. Take care.
I never said I had issues playing these mkv files. shark007 codec plays all files in windows media player with ease. I said they sucked is all. And to note, when that file with toooo long of a file name finishes downloading, it is automatically corrupt. you can not even try to rename it. That is because it exceeds the number of characters on any windows OS for a file name.
Ok this is how to download S06E02 on Windows OS. I changed the download location from C:Users"YOUR NAME"Downloads to C:1. 1 is the download folder. Then after I downloaded it, the file name was still too long and corrupt. So once I renamed the folder you provided in the download C:1Air Crash Investigations (Mayday) to C:11 and wala what do you know, it now has a short enough file name path and the file changed into a non corrupt file and I now have it. I knew it was because of a ridiculous long file name to begin with.
2B4GR8, I had the same issue and I knew you were correct and agreed with you. So I did what I mentioned above and it worked. Some people just think they know what they actually don't. So for all you Windows users this is how to get S06E02 file. I suggest once you get the file non corrupt after doing what I mentioned, then rename the file to a shorter name because you will not be able to store it anywhere because the file path will become too long again. Windows OS will tell you this anyways when you try and move it.
I see that Pirate Bay will not let you use the "slash character" when showing the file path directory. So I will use the - character. Ok this is how to download S06E02 on Windows OS. I changed the download location from C:-Users-"YOUR NAME"-Downloads to C:-1. 1 is the download folder. Then after I downloaded it, the file name was still too long and corrupt. So once I renamed the folder you provided in the download C:-1-Air Crash Investigations (Mayday) to C:-1-1 and wala what do you know, it now has a short enough file name path and the file changed into a non corrupt file and I now have it. I knew it was because of a ridiculous long file name to begin with. (SLASHES REPLACED WITH -)
1Aviator1, you are right.. I had same issue.. and I downloaded S6E2 similarly as you have.. everything eelse is perfectly ok. So.. it is not such a big deal as 2B4GR8 presented.
...and no, mp4 is not better than mkv!
mp4 is so popular only because APPLE do not support mkv. But then again apple do not support lot of things.
First of all, ya it is a big deal as 2B4GR8 stated. 90% of downloaders have no clue on how to get this file without it remaining corrupt and useless. Next of all, there is nobody using mkv files anywhere. Apple has absolutely nothing to do with mp4 or mkv. The only place you find a MKV files is on some torrents. There is nobody in the industry in the world that uses the MKV container. MP4 is used everywhere and it is by far the best container out there. I do not know where you have been or get your information but you are 100% incorrect. Last of all, you stated to 2B4GR8 in earlier posts that you had no problem getting S06E02. But then you come back and say that you did the same thing I did and got the file. I know you only got the file because of my post on how to since you apparently downloaded them on a NON WINDOWS PLATFORM in your earlier posts. Get your stories and facts correct.
LOL, ya mkv is the future, but yet it has been around longer I believe than mp4 and the industry skipped right over the mkv and the world now has gone to the mp4 container. There are clowns everywhere you look. Hell avi has a better standing than mkv does. How many times (MANY MANY) have I myself and read comments from others where these mkv files are ripped you subs, not hardcoded, but yet you can not turn the subs off like your suppose to be able to on any players. Most mkv files you try and re-encode to another format, you wind up having to try 6 different encoding programs before you get one that will actually re-encode them with out any issues. Bottom line and facts about mkv is they have too many issue and glitches and will remain a torrent available file only. They will never be used for any other purpose or by any industry standards.
I had no problem whatsoever with certain s3e2 episode, I first thought he complain about that one... but had with s6e2... just changed file path. It was enough for me..
You are so wrong about mkv/mp4.. that was actually really funny to read.. Hmmm.. Strange... Far best quality copies of the videos/movies on the web are in mkv containers.. And I'm talking about present day. There are lots of mp4s as well, but always lower quality. Again, I'm talking about Best quality copy releases. Example...Grym, Sparks, jyk.......
Dude you are the biggest idiot I know. You obviously have no clue what you talking about. AVC1 comes in mp4 and mkv containers. it is using the x_264 codec with both mp4 or mkv that gives you AVC1. your stupid babblr about mkv. ya that's why every standard in the world is using mp4. flash videos even use mp4 container with H264 codec. Funny how mkv has been around longer but "NOBODY USES IT" except a few..... torrent casters. It takes all kinds of idiots to make a world. And NO, you do not get better quality from AVC1 x_264 mkv compared to AVC1 x_264 mp4. Better go educate yourself mr. never made a video file before and has no clue about the specs of them. LOL. HILARIOUS! MKV FILES SUCK and nobody wants or likes them. They are garbage with nothing but issues and bugs!
Not to mention that the audio is not even mp3, ac3 or aac. And everyone of his files are jittery/jumpy as if they were done on a system that couldn't handle the encoding. I never had a DVD file I converted play like these garbage mkv files. truth is he screwed them up in a way. See you at the next IT or Developers conference. LOL.
Oh by the way "snupix007", come join my circus, I need another clown.
your as funny as the guy taking these DVD Rips with about 720x480 resolution and doing them into 1280x720 hd resolution. But the funny thing is they look the same as the 720x480 files with 3 times the file size and people are dumb enough to download them thinking they are getting better quality hd files and they are not whatsoever. actually the 720x480 look better on my hd monitor and hdtv.
